Well, it's been a while since I've updated here! Rest assured I'm still alive and kicking! Preparing for upcoming events as well as school coming up fast!

Aki-con is in November, and we're going to be there! I've got 3 new styles of hats (completely different and oh-so-huggable) and a 4th in the makings. Not to mention some great new hats that I'll be posting soon!

Sorry to make everyone wait for updates! I'll be sure to update at least once a month from now on!

You know that saying that the ending of a thing is often better than the starting? I'm not so sure about that, or at least not all the time. Ideals are a tricky thing something because they`re just that.

I think what that saying is getting to is that the ending is better because there`s always development in some way along the route.

If you've ever worked retail, you know that it can be a gongshow. Enfuriating customers, demanding managers, and also the pressure of your brain screaming "you need to do more than this!" at you.

However, why is it that, after you come home, a hot cup of tea and a good quality meal just makes everything better? It's one of life's little mysteries.

Sometimes I wonder at the fashion shows of haute couture. Well, everyone wonders at it - seriously, who would wear some of that? And aside from that, who would want to? See-through blouses and skirts made from plastic bags, it can boggle the mind.

And then I go and make mini clip-on hats that are a half-way between conventional fashion and haute couture (at least in my own mind) and I realize that I'm not really all that far off...

Maybe I should go to fashion school instead of art school? Oi vay.

I have often observed that putting extra time into a project pays off. Except when it's me. Haha.

However, I am starting to design a fantastically magical line of hats that are... SLIGHTLY taller. ;) To the point where clips are just not going to do the job anymore. Ah well. Headbands it is.

I'm actually very pleased with the result. I may do more of them tomorrow.

And I finally finished my easter chocolate today. I am quite sad.

Doing what I do, I have to be on top of photography - meaning, documenting each and every single hat I make. This can be a bit daunting, especially with the addition of the baby clips. They're so little and there are A LOT of them.

And today I had to retake pictures of every single one of my hats.

SO

Check back as I'll be uploading them to the different views!

Everyone has something they love and love unhealthily. Sometimes it's blatantly obvious, and sometimes it's a bit more subtle, but the truth is that everyone obsesses over something.

Example? How about your job? Money? Friends? Lovers? A favourite TV show or movie? Everyone does it.

Personally, I'm waaaay too obsessed over this site. Or maybe not. Well, really it's fashion and crafting in general. Seriously, who on earth dreams about making and selling hats in their sleep? It's happened.

Anyway, back to the ol' crafting board.

Well, I've decided to start a shop blog! My name is Breena and I'll be your host for this wonderful wonderful ride of cute and fun.

I went into the old part of town today, where they have a ton of antique stores and boutiques that sell clothes for about a million dollars a pop. I love it and hate it there; it's a beautiful part of town and inspires me so much but everything (and I mean everything)is so expensive!

Anyway, I went into the hat store and got some great ideas. Also, I found a few vintage hats in the antique markets! Expect a few, vintage-inspired looks to pop up soon!
